Public Australian Industry Capability Plans
Defence contractors prepare Public Australian Industry Capability (AIC) Plans to inform industry of forward opportunities to participate in Defence projects and sustainment activities.
The publication of Public AIC Plans is undertaken in accordance with the Australian Standard for Defence Contracting, AIC Program and is consistent with the broader Australian Industry Participation initiatives.
Plans contain the contact details for an appropriate representative from the Contractor to enable companies to discuss the opportunities and register their interest.
The Plans can be accessed below and are accurate as at the date of publication.

| 9 Dec 2024 | Aerospace DEF129 – SUAS – Quantum DEF129 – SUAS - Quantum will deliver enhanced situational awareness and increased force protection through the acquisition and sustainment of a Small Unmanned Aerial System (SUAS). The project is a capability which will provide organic Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) support for land force operations. SUAS provides commanders with Near Real Time (NRT) video and still images, with associated meta-data by day and night. Effectively, the SUAS will provide an ‘over the hill, down the road and around the corner’ reconnaissance capability. The justification for this capability is that it reduces the requirement to exposure personnel to unknown and potentially hostile situations. Due to the small size of the air vehicle and quiet propulsion system, the SUAS allows near-covert reconnaissance of targets. The system will be able to operate from or within confined areas (such as in urban environments) noting that Electronic Line of Sight (ELOS) may be degraded by buildings and obstacles. This capability is intended to replace the existing SUAS in service (WASP AE)

The contracted scope includes design and development, manufacturing, integration, testing, delivery, training and support services.

| 24 Sep 2024 | Land LAND 400 Phase 3 – Infantry Fighting Vehicle (Acquisition) Hanwha Defense Australia (HDA) has entered into an Acquisition Contract with the Commonwealth of Australia to provide Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFV), also known as the Redback AS21, for the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The contracted scope includes design and development, manufacturing, integration, assembly and testing of 129 IFV, including project management and provision of supporting infrastructure.
