Petrol, oil and lubricant products are procured under long-term contracts and provided to Defence operational and support elements and visiting foreign forces. The Fuels Technical Regulatory and Quality Control Framework is maintained for the conduct of Services’ operations along with technical data integrity.

G-Wagon Fleet

CA17 manages Defence’s in-service Light and Lightweight Capability, which currently consists of 2,257 Mercedes Benz G–Wagons, and 1,921 Haulmark Trailers. The fleet comprises 11 vehicle variants and 2 trailer types.

The capability supports the ‘Raise, Train and Sustain’ requirements of the Australian Defence Force by transporting personnel, combat supplies, materiel, replacement combat systems as well as evacuating casualties, line laying and providing a platform for Command, Control, Computer, Communication and Intelligence (C4I) systems.

The Australian Defence Organisation Commercial Vehicles Fleet comprises approximately 6,000 Defence-owned vehicles and trailers. The fleet includes vehicles ranging from all-terrain vehicles, passenger vehicles to heavy rigid trucks, prime movers, touring coaches and aviation refuelling vehicles. 

The Defence commercial vehicles fleet is managed and supported through the whole-of-government fleet services contract with sgfleet (Australia).

The Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter (ARH) Tiger has been in service with the Australian Army since 2004. The ARH Tiger is a two-seat attack helicopter that performs a wide range of missions. It is fast and agile with the ability to detect and engage targets at long ranges, and can easily coordinate and control combined arms teams.

These systems consist of hardware and software configured primarily to provide protected and secret deployable networks and configurations for capabilities.

General Service B Vehicle Fleet

General Service B Vehicle Fleet

The General Service B-vehicle fleet comprises a broad range of light and medium/heavy wheeled vehicles used by the Australian Defence Force (ADF), consisting of approximately 2,900 assets. Most vehicles in the B-vehicle fleet are being progressively replaced under LAND 121 and JNT 2097. Land Rover variants have been progressively phased out as the G-Wagon variants have been introduced into service. The transition of the medium/heavy fleet began in February 2017 with the first deliveries of the new Rheinmetall MAN medium and heavy trucks under LAND 121 Phase 3B.

Short Range Ground Based Air Defence

LAND 19 Phase 7B will deliver Army’s new Short Range Ground Based Air Defence system, which will form a component of the Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defence (JIAMD) capability.

This project will replace the current Short Range Air Defence (SHORAD) capability, including the RBS-70, as the Army's principal air defence weapon. While the new capability  will be able to operate independently, it will be designed to operate as the inner layer of the broader JIAMD capability.

Overlander - Medium Heavy Capability, Field Vehicles, Modules and Trailers

LAND 121 Phase 3B/5B is delivering medium and heavy field vehicles, modules and trailers as well as the associated support systems. The vehicles will replace the Australian Defence Force's (ADF) Mack and Unimog vehicles which have been in service since the early 1980s, and will enhance performance and protection for the ADF’s logistic support capability by providing uniformity throughout the fleet.
