The Information Publication Scheme (IPS) requires Defence to make publicly available operational information and information disclosed under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act).
Who we are
Paragraphs 8(2)(b) and 8(2)(d) of the FOI Act requires Defence to publish information about the agency organisation structure and statutory appointments.
What we do
Paragraphs 8(2)(c) and 8(2)(j) of the FOI Act requires Defence to publish a description of the functions and powers and operational information.
Our reports and responses to Parliament
Paragraphs 8(2)(e) and 8(2)(h) of the FOI Act requires Defence to publish information that is routinely provided to the Parliament, including:
- Annual Reports
- Portfolio Budget Statements
- Senate Order 12 - Agency files
- Senate Order 13 - Entity contracts
Freedom of information requests and disclosure
Sections 11C and 8(2)(g) of the FOI Act requires Defence to publish an FOI disclosure log. The disclosure log lists documents that have been released under the FOI Act.
Consultation arrangements
Section 8(2)(f) of the FOI Act requires Defence to publish details of consultation arrangements for the public to comment on policy reviews and proposals for which the agency is responsible.
