Australian Defence Force personnel with Operation FIJI ASSIST 2016 have conducted work parties with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, to help clean up the village of Nasau on Koro Island after it was struck by tropical cyclone Winston on the 20th of February.

The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) conducted a memorial service on 28 February 2016 for eleven RAAF Catalina A24-25 crew members lost in waters south of Cairns 73 years ago. The service, held at the Catalina Memorial on the Cairns Esplanade, was attended by family members of the crew and senior Air Force personnel.
