HMAS Cairns

About the base

HMAS Cairns’ primary responsibility is to provide maintenance, logistic and administrative support for Cairns based Fleet Units. HMAS Cairns also provides refit and training support for neighbouring Pacific Island nations (Pacific Class Patrol Boats).

Access

Upon arrival you must present your current Defence Common Access Card (DCAC) to the staff at the Access Control Point (ACP)/front gate located on Draper Street. Access to base wharfs is prohibited unless authorised by Port Services.

Gallipoli Barracks

About the base

One of Australia's largest military bases and the headquarters of the 7th Brigade. The units at Enoggera include armoured, artillery, engineer, signals, infantry, medical and other combat service support units.

Access

Arrangements should be made with the Security Contractors and the Base team for large vehicle access.

With the exception of approved military working dogs and recognised companion or assistance dogs, no pets or animals are permitted.

Borneo Barracks

About the base

Home to the Army’s deployable electronic warfare unit and Defence’s electronic warfare operator training unit as well as the Defence Force School of Signals’ Electronic Warfare Wing.

Access

Only visitors with a bone fide reason to access the base will be provided access. All visitors are required to report to the guard room and present photographic identification. A host escort must be present in order for a visitor to be issued with a base pass.
