Access

Authorised vehicle access is via the front gate entrance.

Campbell Park

About the base

Campbell Park Offices is a Department of Defence administrative centre. Base activities are limited to predominantly office/administration.

Access

All visitors are required to report to Building B and D access control desk in the foyer. Your host escort must be present to be issued with a Visitor Identification Card (VIC).

Australian Defence College

About the base

The Australian Defence College was established to meet the strategic needs of the Australian Defence Force for joint professional military education and individual training.

Access

​Visitors will need a valid Defence Common Access Card (DCAC) to access the site. If not in possession of a DCAC visitors will need to be escorted by someone with DCAC access from one of the Resident Units of the base.

Located approximately 11km from Canberra CBD site is accessed via Kirkpatrick Street.

Russell Office

About the base

The administrative headquarters of the Australian Defence Force and home of Air Force Headquarters.

Access

All visitors: you are required to report to the security desk in the foyer of the building you are visiting, and your host must be present for you to be issued with a pass.

Royal Military College

About the base

Every Army Officer passes through the Royal Military College in Canberra. Its state-of-the-art training facilities teaches every aspect of Army command including leadership, military tactics, decision-making and the management of personnel.

HMAS Harman

About the base

Provides administrative support to Navy personnel located in the Canberra area. Harman is home to various Groups, Services, Reservists and a Naval Cadet unit.

Access

Access to HMAS Harman is via the main entry gate on Wilmetts St. A valid Defence Common Access Card (DCAC) must be shown on entry.

All visitors that do not hold a DCAC must report to the office at the main entry gate to gain a Visitor Identification Card.

Majura Precinct

About the base

Majura Precinct is home to Defence personnel across all Groups and Services. 

The precinct is comprised of 3 areas: 

  • Brindabella Business Park
  • Fairbairn 
  • Majura Park. 

Defence shares the area with other Government Departments and companies in the private sector.

Access

Building access is via authorised swipe access with a Defence Common Access Card. Access requests must be sent by the security officer of the building unit to be granted authorisation.

Australian Defence Force Academy

About the base

The Australian Defence Force Academy develops and educates the future leaders of the Navy, Army and Air Force. The program combines military and leadership training with a recognised world class degree from the University of New South Wales.

7am – 5pm

Road rules

Speed limit is 40km/h throughout the base unless otherwise signposted and not to exceed 10km/h when overtaking formed military members.
