HMAS Kuttabul

About the base

Overlooking Fleet Base East, HMAS Kuttabul provides administrative, training and logistics support to personnel within the Sydney area.

Access

Vehicle access is restricted to only vehicles supporting site capability. Vehicles supporting equipment must use lane one.

Prime contractors will only be issued two car passes.

The use of skateboards, roller skates, scooters and similar devices are banned at all times.

The catching and removing of fish or marine species is prohibited.

HMAS Creswell

About the base

Home of the Royal Australian Navy College plus departments covering sea survivability and ship's safety, a weapons range and administrative support.

Access

Authorised vehicle access is via the front gate entrance.

Based on compliance with the below-mentioned requirements. Persons must confirm that they are conversant and compliant with the base COVID-19 safety strategy including:

HMAS Cerberus

About the base

Navy's premier training establishment where around 6,000 personnel are trained annually. Schools here include Recruit School, School of Sea Survivability, Physical Training Instructor School, Defence Force School of Signals and the Engineering Faculty.

Access

Not permitted to bring domesticated or feral animals (assistance dogs excluded) onto the base under any circumstances.

Only registered vehicles are allowed through the access control point.

HMAS Albatross

About the base

The Navy's largest operational establishment and home of the Fleet Air Arm, supporting EC-135, Seahawk and Maritime Unmanned Aviation Systems squadrons, as well as aerial targets for anti-aircraft operations. Other resident units based in and around HMAS Albatross, include the Training Authority – Aviation, the Naval Aviation Systems Project Office, and the Fleet Air Arm Museum.

Victoria Barracks Brisbane

About the base

Victoria Barracks is a heritage significant site. It currently accommodates various office based functions from the three services, as well as the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group and the Vice Chief of Defence Force.

Road rules

Speed limit is 10km/h throughout the base unless otherwise signposted.

Simpson Barracks

About the base

Predominately a Forces Command training base supporting Defence Force School of Signals (tri-service technicians and operators of information, communication, and electronic warfare systems), Defence Force School of Music (tri-service musicians) and Army Education Centre. In addition, Headquarters 4th Brigade (Victoria's reserve Brigade) and Headquarters Australian Army Cadets Victoria operate from the site.

Russell Office

About the base

The administrative headquarters of the Australian Defence Force and home of Air Force Headquarters.

Access

All visitors: you are required to report to the security desk in the foyer of the building you are visiting, and your host must be present for you to be issued with a pass.

Metropolitan Perth and Regional Sites

About the base

Metropolitan Perth and Regional Sites (MPRS) is a multi-site base, that includes:

  • Leeuwin Barracks: Riverside Road, East Fremantle
  • Irwin Barracks: Stubbs Terrace, Karrakatta
  • Palmer Barracks: Barker Road, South Guildford
  • Artillery Barracks: Burt Street, Fremantle

Access

Animals are not permitted on site. Exception are military working dogs and assistance animals by prior arrangement.

Larrakeyah Defence Precinct

About the base

Larrakeyah Defence Precinct (LDP) Base Support Area (BSA) includes, Larrakeyah, HMAS Coonawarra & Defence Establishment Berrimah (DEB). The BSA also encompasses the following operational & non-operational satellite sites; Howard Springs North & South, Humpty Doo Transmitting Station, Defence Fuel Installation (Stokes Hill) & East Coonawarra.

HMAS Stirling

About the base

Provides administrative, training, communications and logistics support to the personnel and vessels based here. These vessels include Collins Class submarines, support vessels and numerous ANZAC Class frigates.

Access

Flora and fauna - including domestic animals - are not permitted to be brought on base due to the natural heritage status. In special circumstances prior permission may be granted.
