Defence is using the US based company, vFairs LLC, to provide a virtual transition seminar service.
By choosing to register for the virtual seminar registrants must consent to vFairs’ standard privacy policy. vFairs will collect personal information for registration and reporting purposes. vFairs complies with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
While vFairs has agreed to some additional privacy controls on information, information disclosed to vFairs will be stored in the US (not Australia). The following special conditions will apply to the personal information collected by vFairs:
- only name and email address will be required
- a pseudonym/first name only and a non-identifying email address may be used to register if desired
- vFairs will only use personal information for the purpose of providing the seminar and those details will not be used for any other purpose (e.g. direct marketing).
- vFairs will not disclose personal information to other participating companies (e.g. other stallholders) unless expressly authorised to make such disclosure to a particular company.
- vFairs will delete all personal information at the conclusion of a defined period after each online seminar.
If registrants provide personal information to other participating companies (e.g. stallholders) that information will be subject to that other company’s privacy policy.
Further registrants should exercise discretion when deciding what information to disclose during the seminar (e.g. during a chat room discussion) to any other participant. If in doubt arranging to liaise with another participant offline through other channels.
By proceeding to join the seminar registrants are deemed to have acknowledged the above this privacy notice.
