Version 1.1 effective 11 June 2015
The hire and loan templates facilitate the temporary passing of a Defence asset, including inventory, to an organisation external to Defence or other entity, for a specified use and defined period of time.
The hire template is for use when the Commonwealth agrees to provide equipment to the hirer in return for a payment to the Commonwealth for the use of that equipment.
The loan template is for use when the Commonwealth agrees to provide equipment to the borrower without the payment of money, but with the payment of a security deposit.

Version 1.1 includes:
- incorporation of all changes introduced in Departmental Procurement Policy Instructions since the release of version 1.0 of the templates
- incorporation of new work health and safety content for asbestos containing material and problematic sources.
