Birthdays celebrated at ADFA

10 March 2022

Staff and trainee officers at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) celebrated the birthdays of Navy and Army on March 1 with a cake-cutting ceremony and inter-service tug-of-war competition on the ADFA sports oval.

ADFA’s senior service representatives for Navy and Army cut the cakes with the youngest Navy midshipman and Army officer cadet.

ADFA Capability and Technology Management College Chief Instructor Lieutenant Colonel Rob Marlow gave an address and wished the two services a happy birthday.

“It’s an honour to celebrate 121 years of Royal Australian Navy and the Australian Army service, and we thank and remember all those who have honourably served our nation since 1901,” Lieutenant Colonel Marlow said.

The Royal Australian Air Force’s birthday will be celebrated on March 31.
