A study of treatment preferences for symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder

The treatment preferences study aims to investigate preferred options for treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among current serving personnel when given information about:

  • PTSD symptoms
  • available treatments, how they work, and their evidence status.

Results derived from this study will allow Defence to develop an evidence-based understanding of the PTSD treatments Australian Defence Force (ADF) members want and why. This understanding will inform content, messaging, and the language used in the development of interventions and self-management tools for PTSD symptoms.
