CA04 sustains the Protected Mobility Vehicle

Thales Australia Ltd (Thales) has been contracted by Defence for the manufacture and through-life-support of both the Bushmaster and Hawkei vehicles.
Bushmaster
The Bushmaster is an Australian-built four-wheel drive protected mobility vehicle designed from the ground up to provide a balance of the requirements for survivability, mobility, payload, communications, usability and sustainability. The Bushmaster fleet comprises over 800 vehicles across a range of variants.
The Bushmaster has been deployed to multiple theatres of operations including East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan where it has proven its operational effectiveness and provided Australian soldiers unparalleled levels of survivability.
Hawkei
The Protected Mobility Vehicle – Light ‘Hawkei’ is a brand new capability that will provide the Australian Defence Force with a highly protected and deployable light vehicle fleet designed to provide optimum balance of six fundamental requirements: survivability, mobility, useability, payload, sustainability and communications. The Hawkei fleet will consist of 1,098 vehicles in 2 variants, and 1,058 companion trailers for the Australian Defence Force.
