In support of the Enhanced Defence Cooperation Program with the Philippines, training is conducted between the Australian Defence Force and the Armed Forces of the Philippines under the Joint Australian Training Team – Philippines (JATT-P) program.
Defence supports training and education opportunities for personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and middle- to senior-ranked personnel from the Department of National Defense.
Training opportunities predominately take the form of formal courses and workshops conducted in the Philippines by ADF mobile training teams.
Australia’s broad defence engagement with the Philippines is underpinned by the Enhanced Defence Cooperation Program, with key pillars of maritime security and counter-terrorism, in addition to training and education, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, and Gender, Peace and Security.
