The role of United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) is to maintain the ceasefire between Israel and Syria and to supervise the areas of separation and limitation, as provided in the May 1974 Agreement on Disengagement.
The position within UNDOF add to Australia’s other peacekeeping contributions in the region, including the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization under Operation Paladin and the Multinational Force and Observers under Operation Mazurka.
