Overview

The Special Language Bridging Course: Flying Instructor course (SLBC-FIC) provides specific language training and study skills to prepare for attendance on the PC21 FIC. This course aims to enhance language skills through aviation contexts relevant to the target course.

It focuses on developing listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills to prepare for assimilation with Australian Defence Force (ADF) pilots attending FIC and to familiarise candidates with the language, terminology, and Australian experience required for the course.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Communicate clearly in a range of flying-related contexts
  • Comprehend everyday flying-related communication in a variety of written and oral contexts.

Prerequisites

  • Minimum Australian Defence Force English Language Profiling System (ADFELPS) levels of S7, L7, R7, W7.

• Candidates intending to attend the PC21 Flying Instructor Course (FIC).
