Overview

The Advanced Australian English Language course (AAELC) is part of the main suite of English Language courses at Defence International Training Centre (DITC).

The course is designed to develop English language proficiency and military and sociocultural knowledge for students attending other courses requiring a higher level of language skills.

Learning Outcomes

The course aims to:

  • Improve English language skills
  • Demonstrate an improvement in English speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills as measured by the Australian Defence Force English Language Profiling System (ADFELPS) proficiency scale.

Prerequisites

  • A minimum ADFELPS level of S6, L6, R6, W6 is required. Candidates who do not meet this entry level must request a waiver from the Head of Section.
  • Completion of the Reception Period course.

Audience

International military

Defence Co-operation Program nominees who wish to enhance their current level of English.
