Where a Schedule of Rates applies, panel consultants may be paid on the basis of hourly or daily rates. Where a daily rate is applied, that will represent the panel Consultant's entitlement for a particular day irrespective of the actual number of hours worked. Accordingly, in preparing a Request for Proposal, careful consideration should be given as to the intended approach having regard to the Services and the Request for Proposal should specify whether hourly or daily rates will apply to the relevant Services.

The Defence Infrastructure Panel (DIP) rates are not published. The Panel Management Team can validate rates for the following requirements only:

• to inform procurement activities where a schedule of rates response has been sought as part of the Request for Proposal. The Panel Management Team will validate the panel rates against those rates submitted at time of tender and confirm compliance. 
• to validate a variation that has been submitted under an active contract should the variation be on the basis of a schedule of rates.

When seeking a rate to inform an endorsement to proceed, the Panel Management Team can provide only an average across the relevant panel category.

If rates are sought as part of a request for proposal, panel consultants must use the role descriptors and rates agreed at the panel level in their submission.

Note: A 3 day turnaround is required for all rates related requests and this should be included in procurement planning. Seeking validation outside of this timeframe may not be able to be accommodated.
