Version 1.0 effective 27 June 2014

Request for information (RFI) template has been primarily developed for use by major capital equipment projects when seeking information from industry during the pre-first pass approval stage of the capability development process. The template can also be used any time information is required from industry before progressing to a formal procurement process.

To minimise the resource burden for both Defence and industry in developing and responding to RFIs, the request for information template has been designed to encourage the project office / procurement team to seek only that information which is necessary and directly relevant to addressing Defence's current information requirements for the project / procurement.
