Warrant Officer Ken Robertson OAM
Warrant Officer Ken Robertson enlisted into the Royal Australian Air Force in 1995 from Western Australia as a Personnel Capability Specialist.
Warrant Officer Ken Robertson spent the formative years of his career posted to RAAF Williams, where he served within the Base Personnel Administration Centre, RAAF College and as a Weapons Instructor at the RAAF Williams (Pt Cook) Armoury.
In 2001, Warrant Officer Ken Robertson was posted to 3 Squadron, RAAF Williamtown, during which time he completed training and employment as a Military Skills Instructor. On promotion to Sergeant in 2005, he was posted to the RAAF School of Technical Training as a Personnel Capability Specialist Instructor.
Following service as Acting Base Warrant Officer Disciplinary (WOD) at RAAF Wagga in 2008, WOFF Robertson was successful in applying for remuster to WOD and post-graduation worked in this capacity across a range of appointments. These include as part of 31 Squadron, on Operation Slipper for Task Unit 633.2.1 supporting C130J operations and as WOD for Multi-National Base Tarin Kot, 1 Recruit Training Unit and Officers’ Training School.
In January 2017, he deployed to the Middle East for twelve months as the Command Warrant Officer Joint Taskforce 633, service for which he was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia. Following this, Warrant Officer Ken Robertson was appointed the Group Warrant Officer for Surveillance and Response Group at HQSRG, and was the Australian Task Group Warrant Officer for Exercise Red Flag on deployment to Nellis AFB (Nevada, USA).
He has served as Air Command Warrant Officer and subsequently Warrant Officer Joint Operations with responsibility to Air Commander Australia and Commander Joint Operations, respectively, as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader. On 13 February 2023, CDF, General Angus Campbell, AO, DSC, promulgated the appointment of WOFF Robertson as the inaugural Australian Defence Force Senior Enlisted Advisor to the CDF (SEAC) with effect 1 July 2023.
Warrant Officer Robertson holds Diplomas in Business, Management (AUS), Joint & Combined Military Studies (USA) and is an Alum of the Daniel K. Inouye ‘Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies’ (APCSS) in Hawaii, USA. WOFF Robertson is also a graduate of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) ‘Niagara’ Senior Air Force Officer development Program; Australian Defence College ‘Joint Warrant Officer Course’ , as well as, the National Defense University (USA) ‘Keystone’ Command Senior Enlisted Leader Course.
Warrant Officer Robertson is married to Melissa and they have 3 children. His hobbies include supporting the West Coast Eagles in Australian Rules Football, basketball, military history and spending time with his family.
