Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works (PWC) agreed for Defence to pursue exemption, received Thursday 9 March 2023.
On Tuesday 23 May 2023, Minister for Finance approved Defence’s request for exemption from referral to the PWC (gazetted Thursday 25 May 2023).
Community information
The method of working plan has been developed in conjunction with the civilian airport operator, Airport Development Group (ADG). The plan seeks to minimise the impact on airline operations, tourism and the local community during peak travel periods.
Defence and ADG have undertaken ongoing engagement with the airlines, airport users, government representatives and selected community representatives. Engagement has been carried by individual and small group briefings and quarterly meetings of the Darwin Airport Community Consultation Group and Planning Coordination Forum.
