About the base
Located in the heart of Swanbourne it is home to the Special Air Service Regiment.
Access
All visits are to be arranged in advance, as a closed base it is restricted to authorised personnel only. Only visitors with a bone fide reason will be provided access. All visitors are required to report to the Visitor Reception Centre and present photographic identification. A host escort must be present in order for a visitor to be allowed base access.
No cameras or video recording devices to be used on site. All dash cameras/recording devices are to be disconnected upon entry to Barracks.
No Personal Electronic Devices are to be brought into security zones.
Taxis food delivery or ride sharing services are not permitted on base.
No animals are permitted.
Access to base maintenance service contractors is via the Alfred Road West entrance.
Visiting hours
General visiting hours 6 am – 6 pm Monday - Friday.
Road rules
Speed limit is 40km/h throughout the base unless otherwise signposted and not to exceed 10km/h when overtaking formed military members.

Live firing |
Do not enter the range area unless authorised to do so or accompanied by an authorised person. A red flag will signify when live firing is in progress. |
Sirens will communicate information about the base security status and procedures. In the event you hear any of the following emergency warning tones, stop what you are doing immediately and follow the direction of your escort or ECO Warden. In the absence of direction, follow the procedures below and those detailed in the following pages of the National Base Induction.
