Home to various intelligence and communication units, as well as our C-130J Hercules medium transport aircraft.
Access
Access is facilitated by presenting and tapping your card at the electronic access card readers located at the access control points. All persons must tap upon entry including those in vehicles.
Vehicles must travel on the shortest authorised route. Vehicle access is restricted on
- Canberra Avenue as a thoroughfare for general vehicle except for personnel requiring access to the child care and OHSC centers
- Newton Ave to all vehicles 4.3m in height are prohibited to access archway.
Entry to service residence precinct is for residence only. Use of skateboards, roller skates, scooters, similar devices and resident’s pets are only permitted within the service resident’s precinct.
Airside access to authorised person only.
All persons must tap their card upon exit. Regardless of whether they are the vehicle driver or not.
Any person booking a Taxi/Uber/Hire Car will be required to meet the driver at the front gate carpark.
Road rules
On entry and exit speed limit is 25km/h, throughout the Base 40km/h unless otherwise signposted and not to exceed 10km/h when overtaking formed military members.

Hearing protection areas have been identified airside and in some facilities and are indicated with blue signage. Do not enter unless wearing appropriate hearing protection. |
Asbestos |
Some buildings contain asbestos. This is recorded on the asbestos register. No work to be performed without authorisation. If suspected asbestos discovered, contact Base Services Support Centre on 1300 658 975 and restrict access. |
