Darwin Health Centre (DARHC)

About DARHC

The Health facility at RAAF Base Darwin combines Medical, Dental and Environmental Health support into one building and offers the complete range of services normally offered by separate operations.

Note: Sick parade is intended for members suffering from an acute illness or injury experienced within the previous 24 - 48 hours.

Members who are not shift workers or exercise personnel, but have immediate medical issues may present in afternoon sick parade however lengthy delays for non-urgent matters may occur. Members requiring BMI clearances, repeat prescriptions & care for ongoing medical conditions are required to make an MO appointment.

Members organising a CPHE (5 yearly medical) require an MO appointment for sign-off.

Medical Services

• Doctors provide preventative care for all Service personnel including performance of minor operations, specialist and rehabilitation referrals, medical employment category reviews.
• Outpatients Department for sick parade, minor operations, vaccination parade, pre-deployment medicals, driver training examinations, pathology collection.
• Pharmacy for dispensing of pharmaceuticals, preparation and resupply of unit/section first aid kits.
• Physiotherapy provides rehabilitation therapy for personnel recovering from surgery and minor injuries.
• Health Promotions for annual , specialist and comprehensive health assessments, pre and post deployment medical preliminaries, 'weight busters' program.

Dental Services

• Dentist provides general dental services including annual assessments, preventative services, mouthguards and specialist referrals if required.
• Hygienist provides cleaning and hygiene services.
• Specialist Dental Services are provided on occasion with visiting RAAFSR personnel.

Environmental Health

• Public Health: incorporating surveillance and education.
• Industrial Hygiene: covering work place inspections and Personal Protective Equipment approvals
• Emergency Response: provide advice and monitor response process.
• Deployable Environment: provide health advice and education relative to the deployment area.

Robertson Health Centre is located on Robertson Barracks near Darwin and conducts the Robertson South, Robertson North and Robertson Central Clinics.

Sick Parade - no appointment necessary - situations requiring immediate attention only.

Manunda Ward will be open for urgent situations when the outpatients department is closed.
