First Assistant Secretary Infrastructure is the sponsor for Defence Policy on the Management of Training Areas. DLPR is responsible for developing and maintaining Defence policy on the regulation and management of training areas throughout Australia and delivery and maintenance of the Defence Training Area Management Manual. DLPR sits within the Estate Planning Branch, Infrastructure Division (ID).
The Deputy Secretary Estate & Infrastructure (DEPSEC E&I) is the Training Area Management Authority (TAMA) for all training areas. On behalf of Army DOTAM manages DSRG range and training areas. Guidance is provided by Training Area Capability Advisors (TACA) as outlined within the DTAMM. DOTAM also facilitates access to non-Defence training areas (NDTA).
