All Project staff must maintain records which are readily identifiable and retrievable. Recordkeeping obligations imposed upon Defence under the Commonwealth legislative framework are extensive and include the requirement to create, maintain and dispose of Commonwealth records in the correct manner. It is the responsibility of management to ensure that staff are familiar with, to the extent necessary, the legislation that impacts upon their work. Individually, Defence personnel are required to understand and act in accordance with their responsibilities under legislation and Defence recordkeeping policy, and treat their legislative obligations for recordkeeping in the same professional way that they treat other legislative obligations.
