Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation

The Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation supports kids living in families affected by mental illness. The program provides recreational educational camps and other activities, giving kids a break, in a fun, positive and safe environment. Kids have the opportunity to meet other kids in similar families and develop new friendships.

Australian Military Wives Choir

The Australian Military Wives Choir is a choir for women who support military personnel. As a no audition, no experience necessary group, they welcome new members. Despite their name bearing the word ‘wives’, they welcome any woman who has close links to serving ADF members. Perhaps you're a female ADF member or a close family member - a partner, wife, sister or mother?

Defence Richmond Family Centre - RAAF Base Richmond

The Defence Richmond Family Centre is a local community centre that strives on supporting and uplifting the spouses, families and serving members of the ADF at RAAF Base Richmond.

They host activities that cater to a whole range of members and families like playgroup, book club, Family BBQs, Ladies night in/out, picnic coffee catch-ups, training programs and workshops.

Defence Special Needs Support Group

The Defence Special Needs Support Group is a non-profit benevolent volunteer organisation established to assist ADF families with a family member with special needs.

Defence Empty Nesters No Kids (DENNKS)

Monthly social gatherings held at various locations. We invite single ADF members, members who are MWDU, Defence empty nesters and Defence families who have no children to join us.

The Hills District Defence Spouse Families Group

Meet at various locations at Rouse Hill town Centre for a catch-up with a coffee an evening out or a movie.

Kissingpoint Cottage

Kissingpoint Cottage is a tri-service community house in the Sydney district of Ermington/Dundas. They support military partners and their children in a fun and friendly environment where everyone understands the unique lifestyle and challenges faced by Defence families.

If you are new to the area or would simply like to make some new friends, the centre is open Tuesday-Friday, so drop in or come along and try some of their weekly sessions. They'd love to meet you!

Tuesday: Fitness 10am—11am

$5.00 per person.
A one hour group fitness session run by a qualified trainer. Covering a range of exercise styles and for all levels. Children welcome, supervision is provided while they play.

Mumps and Bubs 10am—12pm

$3.00 donation
A parent’s group style session for parents with babies or who are expecting. Come along and meet other parents. Older siblings are welcome.

Wednesday: Playgroup 10am to 12pm

$3 donation and a piece of fruit
A facilitated playgroup for all ages. Children can participate in art, craft, sensory, indoor and outdoor play, as well as enjoy stories, songs and lots of fun!

Thursday: Occasional Care (fortnightly) 10am to 2pm

$20.00 per child
A fortnightly service offered for children 6 months to 5 years old. Children are cared for by two experienced childcare workers.

After School Club 3.30pm to 5.30pm

$3.00 donation and something to share for afternoon tea
A session for school aged children to build support networks and friendships.

Friday: Craft and Chat 10am to 12.30pm

$8.00 BYO Craft $3.00 donation to crèche $12.00 per family
If you would like 2.5 hours to relax and chat with other Defence partners while the kids are being looked after in a room nearby, then this group's for you.

Participate in our planned craft such as candle making, weaving or making a bath bomb, or bring along your own craft project, or simply sit and chat. Children are cared for by two experienced child minders.

Monthly Book Club: Our first meeting is on 27 June at 7:30pm.

Open Arms - Veterans and Families Counselling

Open Arms provides counselling and support services to Australia's military community. If you have served one day of continuous full-time service in the ADF you can call them for support. They also support families, reservists and some peacekeepers. Call Open Arms – Veterans and Families Counselling on 1800 011 046 for free, confidential counselling and group programs to support mental health and wellbeing.
