RAAF Base Darwin and Darwin International Airport 2043 Australian Noise Exposure Forecast

The Department of Defence is currently preparing a new ANEF for RAAF Base Darwin and Darwin International Airport with a forecast year of 2043. Defence is committed to providing current and accurate information about aircraft noise. The draft ANEF incorporates a number of proposed changes for both military and civilian operations.

The new ANEF is being produced to meet Airports Act (1996) requirements for the 2023 Darwin International Airport Master Plan. It will provide residents, landowners and land planning agencies with updated information about aircraft noise in Darwin.

The Department of Defence would like to thank all stakeholders and members of the public for their valuable feedback during the consultation period.

The proposed draft ANEF is now under technical review from Airservices Australia and the Department of Defence.

When endorsed, the new 2043 ANEF will replace the current 2042 ANEF.
