As 2020 continues to test Australia, and indeed countries around the world, great power politics, humanitarian disasters and pandemics equally will test global cooperation and the international system and structure. It is against this backdrop that we realise national security and defence, both domestically and internationally must never be taken for granted.
This issue features peer reviewed articles and commentary from voices across academia, the ADF and the Department of Defence and we continue to encourage contributions from across these sectors and others interested in Australia's defence and national security in future issues.
