Zoe Mack - Homecoming for ZoeWhen the Navy Guided Missile Frigate HMAS Newcastle berthed at Brisbane on 16 October 09, Morayfield’s Zoe Mack took the chance to spend some quality time with her mother.
Zoe attended Aspley State High school before joining the Navy in 2003. She decided to specialise as an Electronics Technician and she’s now been promoted to Leading Seaman.
Zoe’s six years in the Navy have included a trip to the Persian Gulf in HMAS Newcastle in 2005 and twelve months in San Diego USA under training, before returning to Newcastle while the frigate was upgraded.
After six years, Zoe now has her sights firmly set on promotion to Petty Officer, and serving on the upcoming new class of Air Warfare Destroyers.
Alongside the many and varied opportunities that a career in the Navy provides, what Zoe has enjoyed the most has been the travel and the continuous opportunities to self improve.
HMAS Newcastle visited Brisbane from Friday 16 until Monday 19 October in support of Brisbane Navy Week during the visit.
