Daniel Geale - Homecoming for Daniel
Once the Australian Guided Missile Frigate HMAS Newcastle had concluded its open day last weekend it gave Burpengary’s Able Seaman Daniel Geale the chance to catch up with family and make the most of his time ashore.
Daniel attended Narangba Valley State High school and, after completing his basic training, he decided to specialise as a combat systems operator.
His postings so far have included shore time in Sydney and Darwin and now a chance for sea time as a crew member of HMAS Newcastle.
Daniel has his sights firmly set on a career in the Combat System branch wanting to learn more in his specific category – and to travel overseas.
What Daniel has enjoyed most is the unique lifestyle of the Navy, the companionship and the teamwork.
HMAS Newcastle visited Brisbane from Friday 16 until Monday 19 October in support of Brisbane Navy Week during the visit.
