5th Aviation Regiment deploy on Operation Pakistan Assist

5th Aviation Regiment deployed to Pakistan on the 16 Nov 2005 to provide vital health care assistance to those affected by the recent earthquake.

The team, made up of about 140 personnel, will include a command element, aviation detachment as well as logistics and communication personnel.

Four Black Hawk helicopters will be deployed to provide essential transport and support tasks to remote regional communities which have limited road access around the town of Dhanni.

On the 16 Nov 2005, 5th Aviation Regiment's Black Hawk helicopters were loaded on to a Russian Antonov aircraft for the flight to Pakistan.
