Operation KRUGER is the ADF’s ongoing contribution to the provision of security and support for the Australian embassy and its staff in Iraq.
Working in support of the Australian Embassy and its staff in Iraq, the ADF provides a tailored security detail in order to facilitate protected mobility to the head of the diplomatic mission and his staff.
Operation KRUGER consists of approximately 80 ADF personnel.

Australia's commitment to Operation KRUGER presently includes:
- Australian Security Detachment – (SECDET) is comprised of about 80 personnel drawn from infantry, cavalry, military police and combat service support. As part of Joint Task Force 633, SECDET provides security and support to the Australian Embassy in Iraq in order to facilitate the conduct of the Australian diplomatic mission. SECDET currently consists mainly of personnel from the 2nd Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment and 2nd Cavalry Regiment.
