| Santa visits Dominican Orphanage in Dili Australian and New Zealand troops from the International Stabilisation Force have had a long-established relationship with the Dominican Orphanage in Dili since arriving in May 2006. Through the efforts of the force's Military Police Section and the goodwill of the people of Singleton, NSW, Santa Claus visited the orphanage and handed out individual presents to each of the children there. | On patrol in Dili These soldiers from Charlie Company of the 1st Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment - have like the rest of their colleagues from the ANZAC Battle Group been providing a round the clock presence throughout Dili. Their role as part of the International Stabilisation Force is to provide a secure environment in which the East Timorese people have been able to confidently exercise their right to vote in the new nation's first independent Presidential elections. The work is hot and at times unpredictable, but hard and constant patrolling is allowing the troops to build strong and effective relationships with the East Timorese and re-build local confidence on the streets. | NCOs participate in training course in Timor Leste Training does not stop for Australian soldiers serving in Timor-Leste. Non-commissioned Officers (NCOs) from the ANZAC Battle Group participated in the Supervisor Infantry Operations Section course in the region of Metinaro, Timor Leste. The live-fire range phase of the course prepares NCOs to act as safety officers on any range firing practice conducted by the Army.
