Clarifications

Employer Support

IN PARAGRAPH three of the article on Employer Support Payments, published on the My Career page in the October 20 edition, it states that the annual qualifying period (QP) is two weeks (10 days).

This information in the brackets is misleading and could be read to mean the QP has been reduced from 14 days to 10 days. This is not the case.

The two weeks may be achieved in a number of ways and could take from 10 to 14 days. Two five-day periods of continuous Defence service (minimum periods for consideration of ESP) will meet the QP requirement but there are may be other alternatives.

If a member is on continuous Defence service of 14 days or longer, the first 14 days would satisfy the two week QP as well.

More information can be obtained by phoning the ESP help-line of 1800 001 696 or e-mail esp@defence.gov.au.

Refuelling

A CAPTION on the Flightline page in the October 20 edition said the aircraft in the photo was a Malaysian KC-135.

This aircraft was a Singaporean KC-135, not a Malaysian KC-135. The Royal Malaysian Air Force does not have any KC-135s. The error was in information supplied.

A PHOTO credit for a photo with a story on explosive suppressant foam on page five of the July 28 edition incorrectly attributed this photo to Leading Aircraftman Guy Young.

The actual photographer was Michael Comerford, senior program manager at the Air Lift Systems Program Office at RAAF Base Richmond.
