Cadet access to the Employee Assistance Program

Cadets have access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

EAP provides free, confidential and professional counselling to help people resolve problems that may impact their life.

EAP services are provided by Optum.

Phone: 1300 361 008 (available 24 hours a day from anywhere in Australia for the cost of a local call).

EAP is available for:

  • all eligible Defence Australian Public Services (APS) employees, their immediate family members and their supervisors/managers;
  • Australian Defence Force (ADF) Reserves and their immediate family members;
  • Officers or Instructors of ADF Cadets, and Cadets and their immediate families; and
  • former ADF members and their immediate family members who become distressed during the process of submitting an allegation or complaint to the independent legal firm DLA Phillips Fox for review.
