Newcastle Buddies is a group for Defence partners and families who reside in the Newcastle area. The group provides support and can assist you to make new friends.
Defence Mums, Dads, babies and children of any age welcome! We have weekly indoor activities set up and an outdoor playground. Many toys and things to keep the kids busy while you have the chance to get to know other Defence families.
Bring a $2.00 donation per child (or $4.00 for a family) and a piece of fruit to share.

Williamtown Defence Family Group Inc. (WDFG) is a not for profit organisation operated by a volunteer management committee. The group undertake projects that support Defence members and their families to connect and integrate into the Williamtown community. From coffee catch ups to making tribute poppies and organising deployment care packages they have a variety of existing activities for you to enjoy. Activities are hosted at both on and off base locations.

The Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation supports kids living in families affected by mental illness. The program provides recreational educational camps and other activities, giving kids a break, in a fun, positive and safe environment. Kids have the opportunity to meet other kids in similar families and develop new friendships.

Open Arms provides counselling and support services to Australia's military community. If you have served one day of continuous full-time service in the ADF you can call them for support. They also support families, reservists and some peacekeepers. Call Open Arms – Veterans and Families Counselling on 1800 011 046 for free, confidential counselling and group programs to support mental health and wellbeing.
A group for Defence and civilian partners who reside in the Nelson Bay region. The group share information, chat and have fun in a friendly atmosphere.
The Gan Gan Family Centre is part of The Schools as Community Centres Project.
Gan Gan Family Centre is located on the grounds of Anna Bay Public School (near the back entrance on Old Main Rd). The group aim to provide services to the local community such as playgroups, workshops and information with a focus on children 0-8.
